Scheduling Letter for Current 8th Grade Students

March 3, 2022

8th Grade Families:

The scheduling process for incoming 9th grade students at South Park High School for the 2022-2023 school year is about to begin. Our school counselors want to be sure you and your children are prepared for this first step toward entering high school in August. They have prepared several resources to help guide 8th grade families throughout this exciting process.

SCHEDULING VIDEO

Our school counselors have prepared this video presentation outlining the scheduling process for current 8th grade students and their families. The video introduces students to available courses at the high school and explains how scheduling will take place in the coming weeks. We ask all 8th grade students and their families to watch the video as soon as possible.

VIRTUAL Q&A SESSIONS

After watching the scheduling video, you may have questions about scheduling and high school courses. That is why the high school and middle school counselors will host three virtual question-and-answer sessions. The sessions are scheduled for 11 a.m. on Friday, March 11; 6 p.m. on Monday, March 14 and 7 p.m. on Monday, March 14. You only need to attend one of these virtual sessions. During this 30-45 minute session, you will be able to ask our counselors general questions about this process. We request that specific questions regarding your child not be asked during these sessions. Please contact one of the counselors directly so we can provide the personal attention you deserve.

Space is limited, so please RSVP for your preferred session as soon as possible by completing this online form. All sessions will be conducted via Google Meet. A link to join the meeting will be shared with families who register as we get closer to the meeting date. If you watch the meeting from a computer, no download is necessary. If you will view the meeting on a mobile device, you will need to download the Google Meet App from the App Store or Google Play (information can be found by clicking here) and have a Google or district account. There will also be an option to call into the meeting.
